MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

A successful design resonates with its users.

As I delved further into fine arts and media arts, I discovered a much deeper appreciation for architecture and design in art history classes.

I learned of masters like Michelangelo and Bernini who spoke volumes through the details of their sculptures and structures to establish an empathetic connection between themselves and the audience. St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Square are both prime examples of how the built environment can affect people beyond the scope of the physical realm.

From there, I realized designers have the ability to affect a society psychologically, sociologically, economically, and politically.

Upon understanding this complex connection, designers can then use these influential factors to create spaces that promote positivity, productivity, and overall compatibility with the user and it’s intended purpose.

Like great artists who strive to evoke empathy through their works; great designers should aim to create spaces that draw on the user’s traits, work habits, and goals to encourage them to be their best version of his/her self.

Within each of the interior design projects showcased on this website, I have maintained this philosophy to resonate my work with the prospective user(s) to draw out their full potential individually and collectively.
